Giclée (pronounced jheeCLAY) is a term used for fine art inkjet printing on fine papers or canvas using archival inks (tested to last for over 100 years with no noticable fading). Our equipment, color and quality control will result in stunning giclée prints of your work. There is no other method to produce a finer quality fine art print. (Giclée is derived from a french verb gicler meaning to squirt.)
Color Quality - We are the leading experts in color management you will find amoung Giclée printers. We have spent many hours applying the latest in Color Science to ensure the best possible color. We use the most advanced color modelling software, color management tools, and color instruments. The competition can only hire a color consultant for a reasonable amount of time. We've trained color consultants.
Paper & Canvas Quality - Unlike the competition, we scientifically test our papers and canvas for maximum tonal range. This ensures the deepest blacks and brightest colors. We tested all the major canvas brands for many months before we found one that met our quality standards. We recommend only two papers that meet our standards. These are the most expensive papers in the industry and we don't charge a premium for our standard premium paper. This paper is a 100% cotton rag art paper, acid free, ligin free, archival paper.
Image Capture - Artful Color provides high resolution film scanning that includes dust and scratch removal. We provide film scanning for artists that no longer have the original or just prefer that method. While we have been able to get very good results from film, one of our key competitive advantages is our Cruse Scanning capability. This direct scanning of a painting is the finest method available for limited edition giclées.
